Camp Mabuhay is a culture camp for families who have adopted children of Philippine heritage. As parents of children born in the Philippines, we realize the importance of bringing the rich culture of the Philippines into our children's lives.
The original Camp was started ten years ago by adoptive parents who realized that they need to help their children explore their birth culture. Mabuhay, Inc., a Filipino-American community organization based in Maryland , under the leadership of Mencie Hairston, partnered with these parents to develop Camp Mabuhay .
In the past ten years, Camp Mabuhay has grown into a very successful three-day summer event drawing and uniting adoptive families from all over the U.S. with the Filipino-American community.
